Back to the Abc's bitches.
B is for BBQ.
BBQ is Mark Sultan from the Spaceshits and Les Sexareenos. BBQ is a one man band which has been the soundtrack to my life for the past year or so. To describe BBQ is hard. The best I can do is that: it's rocking, primative, and recorded live. Dancy fun times. I couldn't stop listening to his latest release "Tie Your Noose" all of this year. It's just the perfect soundtrack for whatever you are doing. Partying down, taking a shower, drinking yourself into a stuper, sleeping, getting it on, taking it off, getting your heart broke, breaking someones heart, taking a walk, killing someone... you know, just about anything you might find yourself doing. Perfect in all ways. So far "Tie Your Noose" is my favorite release of the year. I joined the one man band bandwagon, and I'd have to say that this release is my favorite thing done by one man who isn't King Louie.
The first show I saw after moving to Milwaukee was the King Khan and BBQ show. Bleed and the Night Terrors opened. I was drunk, had gotten lost on my way to the Cactus Club, and almost had been turned away at the door because I couldn't find my ID. Before walking back to the car I found it in my back pocket, and I was in. Although both openers put on a good show, it was Mark Sultan that had me hypnotized. All through the set I was in a frenzy of hip shaking maniac dancing with my eyes glued to the stage. King Khan,(also of Spaceshits fame), with his Chuck Berry moves, was more than entertaining. By far one of my favorite shows of this year, even if I did spend a good hour after trying to find my new house, and an hour after that puking up Jagermiester.
BBQ is currently on tour with the King Khan and BBQ show. I've seen them five times this tour, and it keeps getting better. Simply the best music being made currently. And if you don't agree with me, you don't know an asshole from a hole in the ground. If you don't own any BBQ releases, as always, if requested I'll send you a tape.

police state, for no aparent reason im writing about this. i was watching cops, and i thought it is bullshit that if a cop gets in an accident with a bus full of kids the bus hit nothing. and if the cop is chasing a car the car is at fault for the cop thinking his balls are bigger than they really are and hits the bus. the cop car in fact according to the police not a vehicle at all. so if your hit by a cop car you got hit by nothing. i know the law is bullshit but we didnt make that rule and im pretty sure no one voted for that either. it seems to be one of those inherent powers that they get for trying to save lives. but in the same thought the police are harming more lives just by chasing some going 120 mph on the highway, or going 80 in a school zone. and im sure that that person wouldnt go that fast in a school zone unless he was being chased by the police. its not like they dont have thier lisence plate number. find out the ower of the vehicle, the address and what not and then you can fin out if it is stolen or not. if it is stolen id imagine it wouldnt be that hard to use your umarked cars to tail it and find out where the person is and arrest them without the hazards of going 80 in a school zone or 120 down the highway. sometime you have to let them go cause cops cause more accidents in high speed chases that the drivers do. they drive wreckles because of the cop chasing them. and you dont have to risk the lives of the innocent.

well, i gotta say that it's great to be writing for brown eye pie again. it's great to see some shit happening in muskegon again, and it's great seeing people i haven't seen in a while. this summer brought a ton of great shows to the Division Avenue Arts Cooperative in grand rapids, all poorly flyered, flyered only at each show for the next show, or not at all... i think flyering only at a show is not only shutting out those who aren't at the gig, and thus making into somewhat of a private club, but pasting/nailing up flyers is a lost art, for punks all around, myself definetely included. i dont do the internet posting shit very much, as the drama is something i dont want to be around. the westmichiganpunk.tk site has a good forum for posting shows, and it can be done here at brown eye pie, too, but what i really crave is stopping on my bike at a light and finding out about a show on the wooden post that i'm leaning on. i have kept myself busy as hell the past year or whatever, and its' getting busier and busier with a few huge goals i have that can't be discussd in an environment like this online one, and also are for me and my head, and others will see results, but the planning process is a personal affair. but busy it has been, as ducdkbomb went on two mini tours this summer, aput out a new 15 song CD and soon to be cassette tape; "REACTOR" what i think is our best shit yet, and i finally found a new place, and in that big gap perfected tons of new recipes, and ate way too much tofu based sweets. but two minutes left on this computer... more next week, including updates on the duckbomb/fruit salad 7 inch to come, and the panacea/morehie ushebia split 7 inch.... thanks for this opportunity again greeze

yeah, this is late...or early...i don't really know. it's monday, take it as that. I feel lately like i'm letting everyone down. my friends, my family, myself. it's strange, because i'm happy six days out of the week (figuratively) and i'm organized and more creative now than i ever have been. However, I can't seem to talk to my band, i can't keep a date with my friends, whether it's just jammin' on the drums or guitar, or hanging out with the people that actually understand me. I let everyone down, shit, i'll bet half the weekly columns so far don't have mine in it. I'm unreliable. But don't think it's because i don't care. i do, but i have no short-term organizational skills; no short-term memory for that matter. i could tell you we're going to hang out and cook some food and be really excited and looking forward to it, but then have someone call me, and i'll drop everything and drive half way across the state to see them. or, say i'm going to pay my electric bill, but then
have someone ask if i want to smoke some pot, and i'll spend money on pot and the munchies that follow. i need one of those little palm pilot nerdy things to keep track of shit, my brain just can't. i stopped using drugs a long while ago, so there's no excuse for my shifty behavior. i'm just drifty. i go which ever way the strongest wind blows me.
But i can tell you one thing for sure, i'm going to be snowboarding like an avalanche this winter, whatever that means. i've already got a trip to Crystal Mtn. planned, and i'm cooking up some time to go out to montana and stay with some family friends for a week or so and carve a new face in the rocky mountains. oh yeah, its on. Bittersweet is like halk an hour away from my house, and Cannonsburg, if i ever feel some urge to go there, is about an hour away. I'm getting some new boots to kick it. maybe i can ask Santa for some bindings, because mine are shit. but then again, Santa would probably just bring me a ton of coal from the Consumer's power plant. i'm a nasty little boy. oh well, fuck Santa, i never got what i wanted as a kid anyways.
