saturday 11.06.04 3:23 p.m.- alright alright...so the devil's night gig ended up being a success.jake won the costume contest again- mark won the ping pong tournament, and the band ended up being the first performance of dirt T twat... what a performance... they saved the show.

alright- down to business- after the burn shit fiasco i was and have been hesitant to put shows up due to the fact that there's probably more cops reading this than punks- but anyways, i want to list shows. i think it is important. it's a vital part of our scene for the fact that a) there's nowhere to flyer around here anymore, and b)kids don't flyer worth a fuck anyways... so, i wanna do it. if i hear about a show i'm gonna post it unless told otherwise- if you know of a show and it's not posted let me know and i'll throw it up.

an open letter to all those who fail to separate drinking and watching bands play:

dear so and so, i realize that drinking is important to you, for whatever reason. and for some reason you think going to shows is important to you, otherwise you probably wouldn't go. but drinking and shows don't mix at palmer hall. there are a few reasons for this. the first reason is because underage kids think that, since they aren't around their parents, they can crack a beer and party. well, that may be true elsewhere, but at palmer hall shows that's not the way it works. when you are underage and drinking at shows you are putting those who rented the hall in danger and you are putting the future availablity of the hall at risk. dumbass. if drinking is that important to you and you're not 21, move to europe. germany might like you. if you can't afford to move to europe, too bad, but no drinking at palmer hall. the second reason for this is because those of you who are old enough to drink can't seem to contain yourselves while intoxicated and things get broken.
when things get broken the cost of repairing those things comes out of the pockets of those who rent the hall. and you may not care that we're paying for you to break shit. just don't have any shows at your house because i know a bunch of kids who'd love to break shit at your house, cuz we all know that breaking shit at shows fucking rules!!!! i'd like to see who you felt about breaking things when you have to pay for it. and the mounting costs of repairing broken shit weighs heavily on the availability of future rental of the hall. the last reason for not drinking at palmer hall is because the police are on top of their game in muskegon. they must practice hiding in bushes because they got somebodys ass doing just that, hiding in the bushes- ambush style. i have told everyone that the police seem to have a vested interest in watching palmer hall shows and you all apparently love to test this theory. last night someone got caught with beer or something outside the show and he got nailed for it. dumbass. that's what you get. but he got the show shut down. and now the cops know that they can hide in the bushes anytime there's a show and they can get you drinking and charge you money for it. it's all about power and money. so thank you captain dipshit for getting the show shut down all because you needed that drink. dumbass. if you really need to drink beer that much that you can't wait until after the show - you have a problem. get help. if it's that important to you that you drink, important enough to shut the show down for everyone (all for you)
then you have a problem. get help. dumbass. i think drinking is dumb. it's anti-productive. and wrecking shows because of drinking is just some dumb shit. grow up. wise up. last night the cops suggested that we use them to patrol future shows to keep people from drinking. they have it in their heads that that will solve the problem. does anyone really want cops hanging around shows all the time? no? i thought not. but now we've been put into the situation where we're going to have to walk around all night looking for kids drinking and giving them the boot. because now that's the only way to keep having shows. so i'd like to thank you for making me a cop. just what i always wanted to be. and because we have to walk around looking for dumb kids drinking we don't get to enjoy shows anymore. and if we don't put up the money for these shows, rent the hall out and patrol it then there won't be any more shows during the summer while the ice pick is shut down because no one else will do it. all for the drink. go beer! we love you!!!

This is non negotiable. Think about this before you say your band will play. I will not be arranging the date of the show this year around your bands schedual. The set up of Burn Shit is going to be a bit changed this year. If you are a local band... please don't expect to get paid. I make no money from this show. I lose money on this show every year. I do this for the love of music, and you fuckheads. If you want to play, awesome. But only the out of town bands will be paid. The door will be split amongst the bands that have the farthest drive. I think this is only fair. Last year, I had bands from Chicago, Detroit, and Indiana that I ended up only being able to give about $25 a piece because I had to pay some of the local bands. Thanks to those of you who are locals that gave your cut to the out of town guys. It was appreciated not only by them, but me also.

court drama- one case down, one to go. $2000 restitution, $500 in fines, 12 months probation which adds another $750...for some reason the court didn't see my entire record, and threw out the deal we made which doubled my jail time to 30 days with work release- which is only 25 days...god damn. that's some shit. i guess that makes me the dumbass.

always up for helping out a small band if they needed

?Well, I guess someone needed to tell everyone this,
so it may as well be me. Yesterday, we received a
visit from the Milwaukee Police Department, who had
been alerted to a flyer that Dan Celebrity made for
the show tomorrow. Tomorrow(have you forgotten?:)), is
September 11. The flyer proclaimed "Annihilation Time
in Milwaukee," as this was one of the bands scheduled
to play here. I don't have a scanner here to put this
up, but let's just say it was in questionable taste,
but hey, this is America, right? Well, Dan made copies
at Kinko's, who reported it to the FBI. You might be
wondering how this happened, well, my understanding
(correct me if I'm wrong Jenny), is that their copiers
allow them to save anything that goes through. The FBI
sent the MPD out here last night, and we all had a
good laugh about it, as silly as this story was. We
thought: OK, this is really retarded, but whatever.
Today, though, they sent the housing authority and
another officer over here, inspected the place, and
the officer informed us that if we have a show here on
Thursday, cops will come and bust it and everyone
would be fined. They are also going to talk to our
landlord, who we aren't exactly on really great terms
with, to make him fix code violations and such. This
leads me to believe that we will probably be evicted.
This sucks. Thank you to everyone who made our house
so fun for so long. I love all of you.?

at another man. annihilation time was the name of the
band from california that was coming to play the 9/11
show (purely a coincidence, they were on tour and
needed a show that night. they play hardcore
punk/thrash, where psuedo-apocalyptic names such as

6.04.03: wednesday- early show this saturday, but i gotta work. damnit. i was reading livejournal's this morning and came to someone being pissed off that someone that they know recently had an abortion. this is what i had to say:

i thought it (abortion) was a woman's choice and that a baby isn't even a baby really until midterm. no- they're not happy or fun, but you shouldn't condemn someone because of that...unless you're a republican. or a pinko commie bastard.

as a mistake (as in pregnancy mistake), i wasn't aborted and there have been so many times in my shitty life that i wish that i had been.

yeah- your friend and her boyfriend are irresponsible, and maybe even selfish, or inconsiderate, or whatever- do you mean to say that you or anyone else who made a comment to this hasn't been irresponsible, and maybe even selfish, or inconsiderate, or whatever at one time or another in thier lives? at least there's not one more UNWANTED child in this OVERPOPULATED world that won't be NEGLECTED.

and you can use the adoption argument, but there's gotta be tens of thousands of children in america alone that need to be adopted mainly because they weren't aborted. i know that's not always the case. it may sound shitty, but so is life.

i've been in the same place and no- it wasn't fun, but it was the chosen option. again, that's life. which is the mistake? the pregnancy or the abortion...

and as a male, i really don't feel that i have much of a say in the matter. the man's say is whether or not he uses protection or had a vasectomy and that's it. after that it's the woman's body, and her CHOICE.
